Sundays' Snapshot

Yesterday...Sunday, we spent the day just enjoying our own little family.  My dad is working nights and needs to sleep so my mom took this sunday off ;)
It was a sunny and warm day! Dean and I took the girls to Zuanich Point park in Bellingham.  Took a nice stroll around the harbor, admiring all the boats and getting giggles out of some of the boats names....played at the playground...watched a lot of cool kites soaring around....and of course ended up with our feet in the cold water.....topped off the day with dinner at Red Robin...YUMMMM!   A most enjoyable day....
found a neat little Marine Life Discovery room along our walk.....who knew that starfish came in so many cool colors ?!?

Presley giving daddy some great big smiles and giggles

almost made it through the day with no tears...little scratch up on Kenzies knees...pretty quickly forgotten
saw these neat kites, they went up and up and up

Easter...part 2

On Easter morning.. we went to church and it was a wonderful service.  The girls looked adorable of course =)    we were proud parents when we asked the girls why Easter is important and we heard great answers
Avery..."cause Jesus died on the cross for us to know how much he loves us and was dead for only three days and then woke up so we could see how Heaven will be like with His dad....you know, God"
Kenzie..."Easter is for Jesus dying for me and moving the rock and coming back to me.....Wow..he is sure strong!!  it was a big rock....and for the Easter bunny to bring me a new umbrella"

After church, we headed out to my parents house and enjoyed a lot of great food (ham and turkey dinner and lots of desserts) plus hours of egg hunts... in the rain .....(sigh!)

it is very....very difficult to get these kids to sit and take a picture =)

EASTER

I know..I know...Easter was a while ago already, but things have been a little crazy around here.

Anyway, we had a great Easter weekend.  It was beautiful and sunny on saturday and we had family over to color eggs.  The kids lost interest quickly...(really who could blame them for wanting to play in the sunshine?) so the adults ended up coloring the eggs mostly.

Avery, Kenzie and I made this fun cake....they had been waiting for a month to make this cake after seeing it in their devotional book  ( found an excellent devotional book for kids...bible story, bedtime story and craft/project or recipe idea all in one...more on that later)  they were very pleased with their creation!
