mommy spa day

Avery and Kenzie are totally into "makeovers" right now...not sure where they learned that from but they always want to do my hair and makeup and even "smasmage" (massage) my feet with cocoa butter lotion....while I rarely ever turn down the opportunity to have my feet rubbed ..... I am alot more hesitant with the hair pulling and face paint.  Today, I just let them go....give me the full treatment girls!!  It was a team effort. I got a hand and foot massage from Kenzie....Avery "smasmaged'my scalp with apple flavored hand antibacterial gel ....felt really good, but not so good when it dried.  Then, I received some nice lipstick and blush and about 10 different things in my hair...tiara..clips...bobby pins...ponytails..etc...They were very pleased with their work.  Avery told me I looked "totally awesome" and "not soooo mommish" whatever that is supposed to mean ?!?!?

Presley got a makeover too....just a couple of headbands ...a bracelet and a necklace....she didn't need as much help.

 the artists!!

then they discovered lipstick kiss marks.....all down hill from there =)

Line Road Ladies

I am pretty sure not a day goes by when I don't hear...."Iwant to go to Lucy and Sydney's house" or "can you call Sydney's mom to see if they want to play"....My girls just wait and watch for the neighbor girls to be outside in the yard and then the yelling begins...."Sydney..do you want to come play?....go ask your mom.." and my girls and the neighbor girls yell back and forth until the moms finally talk and make a plan for them .  It is pretty cute and I am so thankful to have great neighbors and friends for the girls that can just run across the street to come play.  So of course today...Avery had early release at school, got home at noon and first words out of mouth..."can I call Sydney's mom....me and Sydney want to play"  It was a beautiful sunny day (although pretty windy) and we had Sydney and Lucy over for a while in the afternoon.....5 adorable little girls in one neighborhood....could be trouble someday =)

Growing sooo fast!

I feel like Presley is just growing up so very fast.  I definitely can not just leave her on the floor or bed or anything any more.  She is a busy little body (but I guess I should have expected that after the last couple days of my pregnancy)  She rolls and rolls and rolls and gets stuck in corners...under the coffee table...under the rocking chair....crashes over Kenzies block buildings...and so forth.
She has been really eyeing everything that we eat the last couple weeks.  At her check up Dr. said she could use some rice cereal sooner rather than later beings that she didn't gain as much weight as she should have.  He said Presley is very strong and developing great so she could be ready for solids at any time.....sounded crazy to me to start a baby on solids at 4 months old!! Avery was not interested at all until about 7 1/2 months and Kenzie was a little over 6 months.  Well, Dr said you will know when to give it to her when...."every bite you put in your mouth makes you feel guilty...because sad little wanting eyes are cutting into you"   Well, it happened!  Yesterday and today she watched every single bite I took like a hawk and gave me this sad little look while licking her chops. After dinner she was sitting in my lap while I was eating dessert and she had such a tight little grip on my hands.....oooohhh she was working hard to pull herself up to get that ice cream, and slobbering and gnawing on my hand.....needless to say I felt very guilty for eating it, she was getting so upset!! (maybe feeling guilty for more than one reason) So we tried rice cereal tonight....she LOVED it.  Ate like a champ, seemed a little disappointed when it was gone.

Kenzie riding her daddy's old bike while in her pajamas and barn boots in the middle of the day  =)
We had the weekly family dinner at our house this week, which is oh-so very exciting for Avery and Kenzie.  They love having company over.  We got very lucky with a beautiful and warm day, so the kids spent most of the afternoon outside riding bike and jumping on the trampoline and swinging.
